| Prayer from the Philippines |
|
Arouse us, oh Lord, |
| Make us uneasy, oh Lord, |
so that we will become more venturous |
| when we are too self satisfied, |
and dare to sail far out into the sea, |
| when our dreams have fulfilled, |
where the storms reveal your allmightiness, |
| because they were far too small, narrow and limited, |
where - while losing sight of the shore |
| when we believe to have reached the safe harbour, |
we see the stars light up. |
| because we were sailing too close to the shore. |
|
|
In the name of the One |
| Make us uneasy, oh Lord, |
who magnified the horizons of our hope |
| when the plenitude of our possessions, |
and summoned the brave |
| makes us lose the thirst for the waters of life. |
to follow Him. |
